The Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 is a powerful yet compact live switcher for creating a high-end broadcast studio. Availability is expected for July 2025.

The ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 is the ideal switcher for building a high quality broadcast studio with 8 HDMI inputs, built-in streaming engine, multi-view, Thunderbolt for recording and playback, USB webcam, DVE, chroma keys, media player and ISO recording of all 8 video inputs. It has 3 independent video outputs that can be routed.

The CFexpress card can also be accessed over a network using 10G Ethernet. For audio it has a balanced XLR input, MADI input and a Fairlight status display with menu. There is also a headphone output for audio monitoring. You even have 200 frames of animation in the media pool .

The built-in Thunderbolt offers live video capture and playback, allowing you to use real-time effects software or DaVinci Resolve for replays of live events. DaVinci Resolve can display live video input to the switcher, and when you press the Point of Interest (POI) button, DaVinci switches to playback of all 8 ISO files so you can select cameras and start replays. You can then set up apreroll and line up multiple cameras into a single replay - with optical slow motion using optical flow. Then you simply load the replay into your timeline and upload it to social networks.

With Thunderbolt connectivity and high-speed 10G Ethernet, ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 is compatible with all popular video software. Because Thunderbolt allows simultaneous recording and playback, you can even take advantage of the live color grading feature in DaVinci Resolve.

The ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 isn't just a switcher - thanks to its 10G Ethernet port, it's also a shared network drive that allows access to an internal CFexpress memory card or external USB drive. CFexpress cards are extremely fast, so they can handle recording multiple ISO video files simultaneously, while other users on the network can work on editing, color correction, visual effects (VFX) or audio post-production on separate computers. You also have the option to sync with Blackmagic Cloud, allowing you to share recorded media between editors and designers anywhere in the world.

The ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 is a combination switcher and control panel. The front panel includes buttons for selecting sources, triggering transitions and setting video effects. There is also a manual lever for (fader) transitions. On the front panel there is a control area for mixing audio with live metering. There are also buttons for recording, streaming and separate output buttons that allow you to switch between 8 cameras, program, preview, multi-view or Fairlight status.

If you are building a podcast studio or need more microphones, the ATEM Microphone Converter allows you to expand the number of audio inputs. It connects to the ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 via the MADI port and units can be daisy chained to add additional inputs. Each converter has 4 analog inputs and supports phantom power.
