New Products from Blackmagic Design

Among the new products launched at NAB 2023 in April, we mention the ATEM Television Studio 4K8 (a variant of ATEM Television Studio HD with UHD support) and ATEM 4 M/E Constellation 4K (a new Ultra HD model in the ATEM Constellation family with 40x 12G-SDI inputs), new DeckLink IP 2110 PCIe cards incl. DeckLink HD, DeckLink IP HD Optical, and DeckLink IP/SDI HD (HD video capture/playback within the SMPTE ST 2110 IP infrastructure), Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter 3x3G (3G-SDI to SMPTE ST 2110 IP interface), Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 12K OLPF camera (upgraded 12K model with OLPF filter), and DaVinci Resolve 18.5 (over 150 new features including new AI tools).

In April 2023, Blackmagic Design announced three new models of Blackmagic Videohub 12G zero latency video routers let customers connect and route any combination of SD, HD and Ultra HD on the same router at the same time. Available in 10x10, 20x20 and 40x40 models, they feature zero latency 12G-SDI interface supporting resolutions up to 2160p60, built-in control panel with direct entry buttons and spin knob control, LCD monitor with live video and labels for visual routing, SDI re-clocking on all 12G-SDI inputs, compatibility with Videohub Master Control Pro and Videohub Smart Control Pro control panels as well as Videohub Software Control for Mac, Windows and iPad.

In February 2023, the new ATEM Television Studio HD8/HD8ISO HD overheads were introduced with integrated console, streaming, recording, MADI audio and a plethora of other features for complete live show processing; the new Blackmagic Studio Camera 6K Pro with EF mount, 6K sensor, integrated ND filters and streaming (Ethernet, mobile); the upgraded Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro G2 with live streaming; and theATEM Microphone Converter with quad microphone inputs (incl. the microphone inputs include a quad microphone inputs with four combined XLR/TRS connectors, high-quality preamps and phantom power) and a MADI output.

In early September, four new models in the Ultimatte 12 range of professional background keying removal systems were introduced: Ultimatte 12 HD, Ultimatte 12 4K and the top-of-the-range Ultimatte 12 8K variant, plus an affordable Ultimatte 12 HD Mini variant priced at £12,684 excl. VAT! Another new feature is the free Ultimatte Software Control for macOS and Windows, allowing you to control any of the Ultimatte 12 models without the need to purchase a hardware panel.

In July 2022, upgraded models of the popular DeckLink Mini Monitor and DeckLink Mini Recorder PCIe cards for video preview and upload respectively were launched New variants with the "HD" moniker they feature 3G-SDI and HDMI interfaces, support resolutions up to 1080p60 and 2Kp60 DCI and Rec. 2020 color space, and are also less expensive. 3G-SDI variants of the popular HD ATEM Mini! New models ATEM SDI and ATEM SDI Pro ISO are equipped with 4 SDI inputs, the ATEM SDI Extreme ISO variant with 8 SDI inputs with standards conversion and signal synchronization. The USB interface can operate in webcam mode, the Pro and Extreme variants offer additional dedicated functions for streaming video and multiview display. The ATEM SDI modes also feature an integrated, compact console with buttons for selecting inputs and effects, plus recording and streaming controls for the ATEM SDI Pro and Extreme variants.

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 is the June addition to the Blackmagic Design line of professional digital cinema cameras! The upgraded model brings a flip-up touchscreen LCD monitor, NP-F570 battery power like the 6K Pro version, as well as compatibility with the existing (optional) viewfinder of the Pro model.

The new ATEM Constellation HD family of overheads, unveiled at NAB 2022, offers a 1 M/E model with 10x 3G-SDI inputs, a 2 M/E model with 20x 3G-SDI inputs, and a 4 M/E variant with 40x 3G-SDI inputs. All versions are equipped with a standards conversion function on SDI inputs, four instances of color keying function and DVE effect on each bus, media player, etc. There is also a USB-C output in webcam mode, a Fairlight internal mixer interface with support for up to 156 channels on the 4 M/E variant (also offers MADI interface), front panel hardware control panel incl. LCD display and LED buttons, Ethernet port for remote control or Windows/macOS applications.
