The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 is the next generation of the popular Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K! The new version retains the compact design of the original model, with new features including a 4K sensor with 13 ev dynamic range, dual native sensitivity (0dB and 18 dB gain respectively) and a max ISO sensitivity of 25600 for seamless shooting even in low light. The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 also adds a 12G-SDI interface for operation at up to 2160p60 resolution, a USB-C interface for recording Blackmagic RAW material to external drives, and remote control over an Ethernet network (using a USB-C/Ethernet adapter). On sale from 1/2024.
The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 is the perfect solution for filming in locations where there is no room for regular sized cameras. It features the popular MFT bayonet, a 4K sensor with high sensitivity and very good color rendition, 12G-SDI output for studio operation in HD and Ultra HD up to 2160p60, integrated color corrector controllable over SDI and HDMI, and even Blackmagic RAW recording to external USB drives! The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera delivers the benefits of large studio cameras in a small, durable body that users can place virtually anywhere. It also has the advantage of an MFT bayonet for using available photographic lenses or studio lenses via reducers. Additionally, buttons on the front of the camera provide quick access to the settings menu and to start recording.
4K sensor
the 4K sensor, combined with Blackmagic Generation 5 Color Science technology, provides the same imaging technology used in the manufacturer's digital film cameras. With a dynamic range of 13 ev, the camera has a wide brightness range for easy color correction, plus the built-in color corrector can be controlled from the overhead! The 4096 x 2160 resolution sensor is ideal for shooting in HD and Ultra HD resolutions, and the camera also supports frame rates from 23.98 to 60 fps.
MFT bayonet
The popular MFT bayonet makes the camera compatible with a wide range of affordable photographic lenses from Olympus, Panasonic, Sigma and more. The photographic lenses are very high quality as they are designed for use in high resolution photography.
12G-SDI and HDMI
Blackmagic Micro Studio cameras can be connected to the studio infrastructure in a number of different ways. They feature an HDMI interface, making them ideal for HDMI overheads such as the ATEM Mini. HDMI supports video, signaling (tally), control and triggering of recording. They don't miss out on the advanced professional 12G-SDI interface for compatibility with SDI overheads , e.g. ATEM Constellation series. A 12G-SDI connection is available for video output from the camera and for program return. The program line also includes signaling commands, talkback and remote camera control.
USB-C interface
The Blackmagic Micro Studio 4K camera features a high-speed USB-C expansion port that allows you to record video to external drives, control the camera over a network, or connect a wide range of accessories. When an external USB drive is connected, the camera can record high-quality 12-bit Blackmagic RAW files for later editing and color correction. This means that users can simply transfer the disc to a computer and work without having to waste time copying files. Or they can add a USB-C to Ethernet adapter and control the camera over the network via an easy-to-use REST API.
Power
The camera offers plenty of power options: it includes a standard 12V= power connector with lockout, and supports standard LP-E6 compatible batteries, for example for backup power during critical live broadcasts. These batteries are readily available worldwide and the camera will keep them charged. Customers can even use an adapter to connect the camera to the V-Lock batteries for true all-day power. This is a great solution if there is no power available where the cameras are located.
