Get ready to take your creativity to the next level with DZOFilm Arles, a line of professional film lenses with fixed focal lengths, high apertures up to T/1.4 and exceptional image quality! On sale from 9/10 2024.
With a high aperture of up to T/1.4 (depending on model), DZOFilm Arles film lenses excel in low-light shooting and provide a shallow depth of field for aesthetic separation of foreground subjects. With a wide-open aperture, they ensure smooth rendering of intricate details of light and shadow, and also offer consistent color reproduction. Equipped with interchangeable PL (standard) and EF (optional) bayonets, Arles lenses offer broad compatibility with a variety of film cameras, providing filmmakers with unmatched versatility. They are also compatible with DZOFilm Koop magnetically mounted rear filters! They are compatible with professional cameras with FF or VV sized sensors up to medium format (up to 43.8 x 32.9 mm, 25-50 mm) or large format devices such as the ALEXA 65 (54.12 x 25.59 mm; 75-180 mm).
Lenses with focal lengths of 14 mm, 21 mm and 25 mm contain two aspherical elements each, which improves image quality in low light. Thanks to their high-precision construction, they effectively correct spherical aberration and coma and minimize wide-angle distortion and astigmatism. The entire line uses low dispersion optical materials that suppress chromatic aberration, resulting in exceptional optical performance. Built-in floating lens elements substantially minimize aberration during focus transitions from infinity to near; minimizing breathing is commonplace.
The internal structure uses sandblasting and anodizing techniques to create an effective anti-reflective layer with very low reflectivity. Even when shooting directly against the light, the lenses provide clear and sharp images. The range also uses an advanced multi-layer optics surface treatment and features a specially calibrated blue coating to minimise reflections and effectively reduce stray light and ghosting. This ensures stable and controllable glare.
Designed to work seamlessly with standard film accessories, DZOFilm Arles lenses have a uniform 95mm front diameter. With a standard M0.8 gear design and uniform placement of focus and aperture rings across the range, changing lenses and accessories requires no repositioning of the rig, greatly increasing efficiency when shooting. With the exception of the 135mm and 180mm lenses, all lenses have the same body length, further simplifying lens changes. Their lightweight and compact design (weighing between 1.4 and 1.9 kg) allows easy integration with stabilizers, drones and steadicams, opening up unlimited shooting possibilities, including handheld, vehicle, shoulder and aerial shooting.
