The FUJINON GF 20-35mm F4 R WR is the lens with the widest angle of view in Fujifilm's GF lens range.
The FUJINON GF 20-35mm F4 R WR is the lens with the widest angle of view in Fujifilm's GF lens range.
It offers a zoom range from ultra-wide 20mm to wide-angle 35mm (equivalent to 16-28mm in 35mm format) with a constant f/4 aperture. Thanks to the exceptional features of the GFX system, this lens can produce 100 megapixel images that are rich in detail, colour and information. The wide angle of view (108°-76°) is much wider than the human field of view, allowing you to photograph subjects very close to the lens.
The GF 20-35mm F4 R WR takes full advantage of the GFX large format system and its optical design features 14 elements in 10 groups, including three aspherical elements, one aspherical ED element and three ED elements with extremely low dispersion to minimize color fringing and chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range. The Nano GI (Gradient Index) surface treatment helps reduce flare and ghosting, ensuring maximum image clarity, which is especially important with wide-angle lenses.
The lens is equipped with a stepper motor for the internal focusing mechanism, ensuring fast, quiet and accurate focusing. By minimizing a phenomenon called "focus breathing", it is possible to take images of the same scene with different focus points and then seamlessly merge them in post-production for maximum sharpness.
Although ultra-wide angle lenses tend to be heavy and bulky, Fujifilm designed this model to be compact and comfortable, making it ideal for landscapers who carry their equipment for long hours. The lens measures just 112.5mm and weighs just 725g, while still delivering excellent performance as an ultra-wide-angle zoom with a constant f/4 aperture. The internal zoom mechanism keeps the lens length constant as the focal length changes and does not cause significant changes in the center of gravity.
The manual aperture ring allows aperture adjustment from f/4 to f/22 in 1/3 increments . The ring switches between auto mode (A), manual aperture setting, and position C (Command), which allows aperture control directly from the camera body. The lens has a versatile 82mm filter, allowing photographers to use a wide range of circular filters, especially for landscape photography.
The front member of the lens has a fluorine coating that repels moisture, prevents dirt build-up and protects against fingerprints and smudges. The lens is designed to be dust- and weather-resistant, with seals in 12 places to ensure it remains functional in temperatures as low as -10°C.
