Large format GFX sensors, which are 1.7 times larger than full frame sensors and have a 4:3 aspect ratio, require quality optics to reach their full potential. With this lens, images and portraits are produced with excellent clarity and detail, and provide a great balance between compression and depth of field. Its sophisticated optical design includes three aspherical elements, one super ED element and one ED element to help minimize spherical and chromatic aberrations, resulting in improved sharpness and color accuracy.

The lens can produce images of over 100 MP and its image quality is comparable to prime lenses from center to edge. The GF 32-64mm F4 R LM WR uses a state-of-the-art autofocus system specifically adapted for large format mirrorless cameras. The internal focusing mechanism combined with a powerful linear AF motor ensures fast and near-silent autofocusing.

Weighing just 875g, the lens is lightweight and easy to carry, making it ideal in combination with the GFX100S, where it can achieve stunning resolutions of up to 102 megapixels and the total kit weight remains under 2kg. The aperture ring provides intuitive exposure control and includes lockable A (Auto) and C (Command) positions for setting the aperture directly on the camera body .

A fluorine coating on the front member resists moisture, grease and dirt. The lens construction includes ten seals to protect against weather, dust and frost, allowing shooting in harsh conditions and temperatures down to -10°C.
