The new Grass Valley T2 4K video recorders/players are designed for TV studios or broadcast trucks processing a large number of audio and video formats, including. SD, HD, UHD or 4K DCI standards. They combine the look and working philosophy of classic VCRs with modern touchscreen or app control. They are used not only for loading material, but also for playback, management or archiving of video material, or as a source of video/graphics for the director's workplace. A dedicated application facilitates media selection or playlist creation, and of course integration with the company's EDIUS application for trimming and editing clips during recording (Elite version)
The Grass Valley T2 4K VCRs are available in Pro and Elite versions (the latter also offers, for example, redundant power supply and card/SSD readers) and support playback or loading of 4K (UHD or DCI) material, or recording of one HD channel with simultaneous playback of two. Of course, there are functions for real-time conversion of 720p to 1080p/i resolution, start recording according to user-set time, synchronization/remote control of LTC/GPI/RS-422 or BVW/GPIO/AMP, directory monitoring, export of files to FTP server, backup, etc. The 7" LCD touch screen with intuitive GUI and jog/shuttle wheel provide high user comfort when operating without a computer. Files can also be copied via USB 3.0 or Gigabit Ethernet, and wide compatibility with modern codecs is a matter of course (Grass Valley HQX, XAVC, XAVC S, XDCAM, P2, AVC-ULTRA, Apple ProRes 422, Avid DNxHD and MPEG-2).
