KRK Rokit 5 G5 - 2-band active monitor with DSP

The KRK Rokit 5 G5 is an active reference studio monitor designed for post-production, mixing and mastering. The enclosed soundboard with front bass reflex is equipped with a 5" bass driver and a 1" tweeter. Three listening modes allow the monitors to be used for three different types of work - mixing and mastering, production and commercial listening, and midrange-oriented listening. An internal DSP processor is used to adapt to the acoustics of the room, offering 25 presets for the EQ. Bi-amping is handled by a Class-D amplifier with 30W + 20W of power.

Three listening modes
The Rokit G5s have three very useful colour and dynamic adjustment modes designed for three distinct types of activity:

• Mix Mode - with a flat neutral frequency and phase response ideal for mixing, mastering and critical listening.
• Create Mode - is a more inspired voicing that is best suited for writing and composing music, production and casual listening.
• Focus Mode - is a mode focused on critical midrange analysis. This is where vocals, spoken word, snare, guitars, keyboards, most solo instruments

EQ to adjust to the acoustics of the room
The Rokit G5 monitors' DSP processor contains 25 equalizer settings. These are combinations of edge (High Shelf, Low Shelf) and parametric equalizers to help minimize the acoustics issues of your listening room.

Innovated transducers
Bass drivers with a standard woven Kevlar aramid fiberglass cone diaphragm provide excellent attenuation of distortion and wobble, and thus parasitic frequencies and distortion. This gives the G5 models greater fidelity and accuracy in the bass and broad mids. The tweeters benefit from a highly damped acoustic silk dome diaphragm that smoothly extends the frequency range up to 40 kHz.

Bi-amp amplifier
For superior response and dynamic reproduction, the speakers are powered by a dual Class-D power amplifier, which on the G5 models splits power into 30 W for the bass and 20 W for the treble. Cooling is improved to prevent excessive heating. This ensures sound integrity and precise frequency response even with prolonged use.

Removable speaker grilles
Perforated metal grilles are used to prevent mechanical damage to both drivers. If the monitors are required for permanent installation, the grilles can be removed when the front panel is removed. This way you can use your KRK Rokit G5s on the road as critical listening for your mobile studio, or you can install them in your studio as one of your permanent listening setups and tweak the design to suit your needs.

Foam pads
Ideally, use monitor pads to install your monitors, but if you need to place the monitors directly on your desk, foam pads will serve you well to prevent resonances being transmitted to the desk, thus distorting the frequency response and dynamics of the presentation. The pads are also slightly beveled, and this elevation will help direct the monitors directly into your listening space.
