Metabones Nikon G to BMPCC4K Speed Booster XL 0.64x

The new BMPCC4K Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x and XL 0.64x variants are based on the existing MFT models, but are optimized for the BMPCC4K camera filter set, which is considerably smaller in thickness than standard cameras with this mount. In addition to the modified optical system, they also offer a longer tripod foot - for perfect alignment with the BMPCC4K camera body - guaranteeing a solid connection between the camera body and the Speed Booster adapter with the quick release plate. Both models - the Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x and XL 0.64x - are available in Nikon G, Canon EF and Canon EF CINE mount variants. In addition, the ULTRA 0.71x is also available in the ARRI PL version, on sale from 8/2019.

Both models - the Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x and XL 0.64x - are available in Nikon G, Canon EF and Canon EF CINE mount variants. In addition, the ULTRA 0.71x model is also available in the ARRI PL version. The new Metabones Speed Booster range of adapters is designed specifically for the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and cannot be used in combination with other MFT mounted cameras (JVC, Olympus or Panasonic)..

Speed Booster XL 0.64x for BMPCC4K
The Speed Booster XL 0.64x for BMPCC4K uses advanced optics consisting of seven lenses including tantalum glass elements with an extremely high refractive index for fantastic optical performance up to f/0.80! The new variant has been designed specifically for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K for maximum image quality and compatibility with FF lenses, from vintage film lenses to the latest lenses from all brands

The Speed Booster adapters take advantage of the capabilities of advanced materials and patented technologies from US company Caldwell Photographic to improve the transmission characteristics of the camera's entire electro-optical imaging system. The adapter uses extremely high refractive index glass for superior optical performance, including reducing focal length and increasing lens mounted luminosity and sensor coverage, as well as improving modulation transfer function. A noticeable improvement can be observed especially in the centre of the image, with a slight improvement also occurring in the peripheral parts. A luminosity of up to f/0.80 (with an f/1.2 lens) can be achieved! For example, a 50mm f/1.2 lens turns into a 32mm f/0.80 lens!



The Speed Booster Adapter guarantees an improvement in the optical performance of the lens used: even at the maximum f/0.80 aperture (with an f/1.2 lens), the adapter provides a sharp, high-contrast image up to a height of 5.1 mm (the limit of the BMPCC4K's FHD mode); however, the image quality remains very high throughout the sensor area. Vignetting at the maximum aperture of f/0.8 does not exceed one aperture number, and at f/3.42+ there is no vignetting at all. Rectilinear distortion is less than 0.8%
