The Sony A6700 is an APS-C mirrorless camera that combines the high-end image and video features of the latest fullframe Alpha and Cinema Line cameras with the compact and lightweight design of the A6000 series.
Combining the APS-C Exmor R CMOS back-illuminated image sensor, which boasts 26 effective megapixels, with the speed and power of Sony's advanced BIONZ XR processor, the A6700 achieves exceptional imaging performance while maintaining a compact and lightweight design. Standard ISO sensitivity ranges from 100 to 32,000 for both stills and video, enabling high-sensitivity, low-noise photography. The camera supports high-definition 4K video recording at up to 120 frames per second, a wide dynamic range of more than 14 EV to capture detail in challenging or low-light conditions, and features the S-Cinetone image profile found in the professional Cinema Line for cinematic images that require no color correction and provide stunning renditions of human skin tones.
The AI unit is taken from the A7RV and enables high-precision autofocus with real-time recognition. In addition to recognizing people and animals from the A6000 series, it now accurately identifies other subjects such as birds, insects, cars/trains/airplanes, catering to diverse creative needs. The A6700 uses image data equivalent to 6K resolution to produce superb 4K video, including support for high frame rate 4K/120 recording, and features S-Log3, which offers a dynamic range of 14+ EV to preserve detail in the brightness extremes of the image. The A6700 is also equipped with S-Cinetone technology, which offers impressive skin tone and subject highlighting, technologies perfected in the development of the Cinema Line, while AI-driven auto-sensing seamlessly tracks subjects and eliminates the need for manual camera movement. The camera body houses an MI (Multi-Interface) socket compatible with digital audio interfaces.
The device features a user-friendly, touch-sensitive, adjustable LCD monitor. There is also a customizable front selector and toggle dial for still images, movies and S&Q modes. It also features an in-body optical five-axis image stabilization system (up to 5 aperture numbers) and now supports the Creators' App for seamless upload of videos and images to cloud services.
