The Sony Alpha A7R Mk.III is a new generation of compact system camera (CSC/mirrorless), which is suitable not only for reportage and sports photographers, but also for documentary, portrait, landscape and many other amateur and professional photographers thanks to its speed and image quality even at high sensitivities. It is equipped with a five-axis stabilized 42.4MPix FullFrame Sony Exmor R CMOS sensor with a native sensitivity range of ISO100 - ISO32000. Thanks to its movable mount in the stabilisation cradle, it supports the new Pixel Shift function, allowing you to create photos with complete colour information (RGB) for each pixel, creating stunning photos full of detail and colour. The BIONZ X image processing engine enables shooting with an extended sensitivity range of ISO50 - ISO102400, 4K video processing and, in conjunction with a hybrid AF system with 399 AF points for phase detection and 425 AF zones for contrast focus detection, captures fast action with burst shooting at up to 10fps. The camera has excellent ergonomics and customizable controls that rely on a 0.5" electronic OLED viewfinder with Quad-VGA resolution and a 3" tilt-and-touch TFT LCD with 100% field of view coverage. Connectivity to the environment is provided by Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n) with NCF Forum technology (type 3), Bluetooth 4.1, SuperSpeed USB3.1 Gen1 connector (type-C), Micro HDMI connector (type-D), multi interface shoe socket with synchro connector, 3.5mm microphone jack and 3.5mm headphone jack. The compact magnesium camera body is very strong, lightweight and is perfectly sealed against dust and water run-off

Detailed description of features
Sony Exmor R CMOS Back Illuminated 42.4MPix Full Frame Sensor
At the heart of the camera is a large Full Frame Sony Exmor R CMOS sensor with Back Illuminated technology, featuring 42.4MPix resolution, a gapless microlens design and an AR anti-reflective coating on the cover glass. Thanks to these technologies, the sensor achieves brilliant image quality with a realistic feel and high dynamic range that handles a wide range of native ISO sensitivities (ISO100 - ISO32000). In conjunction with the image processor, the ISO sensitivity range can be extended to ISO50 - ISO102400
5-axis image sensor stabilization with an efficiency of up to 5.5EV
An innovative sensor stabilizer is integrated in the camera using a five-axis stabilized frame into which the Sony Exmor R CMOS sensor is mounted. This frame actively rotates, tilts in two axes and shifts in two axes, effectively compensating for shake and jitter that negatively affect the camera's sensor. In total, this eliminates up to five types of shake that cause blurred photos: tilt/roll shake around the X/Y axis that occurs when shooting at longer focal lengths, X/Y axis shake when shooting close-ups (including macro photography), and rotational shake around the Z axis that occurs during night shots when panning. The effectiveness of the stabilizer is achieved by new gyroscopes and sensors which, in cooperation with the latest algorithms, correctly evaluate the nature of the shake and how to eliminate it by means of commands to the electromagnetic compensation units of the stabilization unit. According to CIPA measurements, the efficiency of the stabilizer is 5.5EV degrees which means in practice that you can shoot with exposure times longer by 5.5 exposure degrees. The sensor stabilizer thus allows you to take full advantage of the sensor's high resolution (42.4MPix), even in situations where you are shooting in very low light such as night shots. The image sensor stabiliser allows you to stabilise shake regardless of the lens you have on, which is a great competitive advantage.
Pixel Shift function for impressive photos full of colour and detail
New is the very interesting Pixel Shift function which, by shifting the sensor in the stabilising frame to 4 positions adjacent by one pixel, sequentially creates 4 separate shots which, when finally composed, form one final photo. Here you can then choose between 1 resulting photo with a total resolution of 42.4MPix, where each pixel of the photo contains complete color information from all color channels (RGB), or 1 resulting photo with a total resolution of 169.6MPix, which is created by simply merging all pixels from all 4 shots into one photo. If you choose the first option then one pixel of the resulting photo is created from the 4 pixels that come from the 4 shots created. These are created so that one shot is always created in a position shifted by one pixel, with the sensor moving as if along the edges of a closed square. In this way, it is achieved that one pixel of the resulting photo thus gets the complete color information from the 4 shots, because in the four shots this particular pixel is always under a different color filter of the bayer mask (Red+Green+Green+Blue). As a result, then, this resulting photo perfectly captures detailed textures, balanced colors and a realistic feel with minimal moiré effect and tamker no distortion of color rendition. Photographs taken with this technology can be processed with Sony's new image processing software package.
