TheSD-3 Set is a set of three SD-3 compact dynamic microphones with a kidney (cardioid) directional characteristic. They are rated for high SPL sound pressure, making them ideal for capturing snare, toms, percussion, brass instruments and guitars. The SD-3 Set is excellent for live sound reinforcement and studio use. With Hemisphere modeling software, you can faithfully model iconic dynamic microphones in your DAW; during recording and in post-production. With the microphones, you get microphone sockets with ⅝" to ⅜" thread adapter and storage cases.

The SD-3 microphone has high directivity in the pickup axis, making it ideal where ambient noise or crosstalk from secondary instruments and sounds needs to be suppressed. The following microphone models are available for the SD-3:

• DN-57
  Introduced in 1965, the ubiquitous '57 model is arguably the best-selling microphone of all time and has become the standard for contact pickup of instruments and instruments. It is a good choice when combined with other microphones to achieve balanced full color.
• DN-545
  The predecessor to the Model 57 used a Unidyne III capsule. It was used extensively on The Beach Boys Pet Sounds recordings, including Brian Wilson's lead vocal, and on countless other recordings from that era.
• DN-604
  is based on the current 604 model, which has become a standard on stages and in studios around the world. This compact clip-on microphone has a wide range of uses, especially for snare and tom drums.
• DN-409U
  is suitable for most sound sources, but is particularly well suited for guitars. It has smooth non-aggressive highs its low frequency response suppression below 100 Hz will help the instruments being pictured sit well in the mix.
• DN-4
  is derived from a modern compact instrument microphone that works great on snare, toms, pre-cuts, brass and guitars. Compared to its predecessor, the emulation has a three-position filter to better tailor the sound to your needs.
