Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve Studio is the premier solution for color correction and video/audio editing on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux platforms. DaVinci Resolve Studio software supports more real-time color correction features than any other system because it is not limited by the performance of the computer it runs on. ATTENTION, this is an activation key sent by email. This version is otherwise functionally identical to Resolve Studio.
DaVinci Resolve Studio Versions:
It overcomes this performance barrier by accelerating computation through GPUs for real-time computation, even for highly complex projects. DaVinci Resolve Studio offers fantastic performance at low cost, and performance is scalable by adding additional GPUs to work with 4K resolution, stereoscopic video, or real-time work with RAW files from Blackmagic Cinema Camera, ARRI, RED, and Sony F65, F55, or F5 cameras. DaVinci Resolve is compatible with Mac OS, Windows and Linux. Version 19 is available from 9/2024.
DaVinci Resolve 19
DaVinci Neural Engine AI
DaVinci Resolve 19 brings powerful new DaVinci Neural Engine AI tools based on artificial intelligence technology and more than 100 enhanced features. Editors can now work directly with subtitle transcription and search and edit clips in the timeline based on detected performers. The speech analyzer is now able to recognize multiple voices, allowing it to assign names to different speakers and refine search and text replacement operations based on detected dialogue. Colorists can create rich tones with ColorSlice and create film look emulations with the new Film Look Creator effect, which emulates film processes. In Fairlight, a new IntelliTrack AI tool can be used to track motion and automatically scroll audio. Visual effects creators in Fusion now have an expanded USD toolset, plus new rotoscoping features. The editing section has new tools for quick multi-camera editing of news stories and playout features.
License management
The new Organizations app in Blackmagic Cloud allows larger companies to define a single organization or business. Now customers can create groups or teams and quickly share projects for the entire group. Users can also manage access to storage, share presentations and create single sign-on. The new system also allows multiple DaVinci Resolve Studio licenses to be purchased or rented. This makes it easier to assign and manage licenses within large workgroups. Licenses can be budgeted for the cost of specific projects and removed when completed.
Section Cut
...now supports real-time selection of live camera footage for instant replay to broadcast, including slow motion and interlaced footage. New Multi Source Viewer allows you to view all live cameras or clips with a common timecode in the same window. Users can browse, play back and select footage to add to the timeline or simply include it directly in the broadcast, including live video. When watching live video or clips in the multiview view, when a significant event occurs, a point of interest ("POI") marker can be used to instantly capture the moment. The POI marker is placed on all clips at the same moment, making it easy to quickly find the event at each camera angle, include it in the broadcast, or automatically build a timeline from the most interesting events so marked.
The work pace is often extreme for live TV broadcasts, so the new controls for instant video replay are very clearly structured. Users can set a marker of interest, select a camera and put it on the air with a single button. After that, automatic replay to the broadcast is activated via ATEM mode. It is just as easy to switch cameras or - once the playout is complete - simply delete the entire queue and prepare for the next playout. There are also new stinger-type interlaced cues that let viewers know that a program has gone from live to replay, then back, or just switched to a new scene. The new features make it very ergonomic to work with all the live cameras and edit posts on the timeline while the cameras are still recording.
Color section
UltraNR is a new feature for image noise reduction in the Color section using DaVinci Neural Engine technology. Colorists can use it to dramatically reduce digital noise in processed material while maintaining a clean, artifact-free image. Combined with Temporal Noise Reduction algorithms, even more effective reduction can then be obtained with the detector also operating in the time domain. The new Film Look Creator feature allows emulation of film materials, processes and artifacts including halation, bloom, grain, flicker or vignetting. Colorists can adjust exposure in aperture numbers and perform subtractive saturation control to simulate film footage. The new ColorSlice palette with six color vectors uses subtractive color processes to precisely adjust color and saturation to mimic the look of film.
Fusion section
The new uVolume feature allows direct import of VDB volumetric files, eliminating the time-consuming conversion of volumetric data from fluid dynamics simulators, etc. It also adds creative control over imported effects such as smoke, fire, clouds or explosions, including density, temperature and color parameters. Another new tool, MultiPoly, displays all masks in a single list, eliminating switching between nodes for faster and more accurate rotoscoping. It is ideal for complex projects: users can view, select, add and edit specific masks, switch their visibility and adjust other parameters from a single location.
Fairlight section
The new IntelliTrack AI motion tracking tool also leverages DaVinci Neural Engine technology and can be used in Fairlight to automatically track people or objects and then automatically pan the audio. With AI panning based on video data, dialogue can be processed quickly, including separating dialogue tracks from background sounds and room reverberation. Users can easily reduce background noise and remix or remove sounds that blend with dialogue, e.g. for videos recorded in the field, including interviews taken in busy locations.
Ducker Track FX allows one track to automatically adjust the level of another track without the need for complex sidechain compression or automation curves. Users can automatically adjust lower levels of music or background noise when dialogue is present. Controls include selective level settings for voice, drums, bass, guitar and other elements of the track. This can change a vocal track to an instrumental track, automate changes, and change the music mix to emphasize a different instrument than what the original mix reflected.
Ambisonic surround sound is a new spherical format that allows sound engineers to record, mix, monitor and export spherical soundtracks. Fairlight now has fully integrated native ambisonic audio support including native effects processing, 2D and 3D panning, binaural listening, dynamic metering in the browser and head position tracking.
New DaVinci Resolve 19 features
DaVinci Resolve 19.0.1 (9/2024)
The first update for DaVinci Resolve 19 speeds up timeline work for complex projects, optimizes preview playback, and improves media management for AAF rosters with embedded content. Also, duplicating timelines or applying color corrections to multiple clips, or displaying SVG graphics in the Fusion section/application has been sped up.
