Panasonic has introduced a new zoom lens in the LUMIX S series, the 18-40 mm f/4.5-6.3 (S-R1840E), currently the smallest and lightest FF zoom on the market; the new body colour of the LUMIX S9 ("smoke white"); an updated version of the original "espeta", LUMIX S5D (now compatible with DJI's AF LiDAR technology and DJI RS 3 Pro stabilizer; sold in a kit with 18-40mm lens); and new firmware for the S9, S5M2/S5M2X and G9M2. Firmware 1.1 for the S9 allows you to deactivate the video recording time limit (but depending on the ambient temperature, recording may still stop automatically if the electronics are in danger of overheating), allows you to display up to three image markers at once, improves Phase Hybrid AF, and expands the synergies with LUMIX Lab to include remote shutter and shutter control. Updates 3.1 and 2.1 for the S5M2 and S5M2X respectively, and 2.2 for the G9M2 implement 5GHz Wi-Fi support, compatibility with the DMW-XLR2 audio accessory, compatibility with the LUMIX Lab app, and the ability to assign the Real Time LUT function to a function button; additionally, for the S5M2/S5M2X models, it introduces the new "LEICA Monochrome" shooting style.
