Sony launch a pair of new camcorders, THE HXR-NX800 a PXW-Z200offering a range of innovations for advanced sports production, live streaming, cultural and social event recording and more. The new HXR-NX800 is the successor to the popular HXR-NX5R, and adds 4K video, an improved lens, Wi-Fi interface and other features, while the PXW-Z200 adds a 12G-SDI interface, time code or MXF support (planned as an update in summer 2025). Both models boast artificial intelligence technology for autofocus with subject recognition, a 1" Exmor RS CMOS sensor and up to UHD 60p/120p video recording (XAVC HS/S/SI/HS Proxy up to 16 Mbps), a 20x Sony G zoom lens (24-480mm f/2.8-4.5), a range of image presets (S-Cinetone, ITU709, 709tone, HLG Live), electronic ND filter (1/4-1/128 ND), a new tilting viewfinder, removable microphone holder and 3.5" bright LCD display, lightweight body (approx. 1.93 kg for HXR-NX800, 1.96 kg for PXW-Z200), HDMI A, USB-C and LAN ports, as well as 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi with streaming (RTMP/RTMPS/SRT) and automatic video upload to FTP servers/cloud. On sale during the second half of September.
