In addition to the new Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K, Blackmagic Design has also focused on the studio camera segment, where they now offer a pair of new products: Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 and the Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2. The former is an upgrade of the popular Studio Camera 4K Plus, now with a 12G-SDI interface, support for remote control over the network via USB and REST API, and talkback via headsets with 3.5mm connectors. The new Micro Studio Camera retains the compact design of the original model, with new features including an upgraded 4K sensor (with 13 EV dynamic range, dual native sensitivity and max ISO 25600) for seamless shooting even in low light. Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 also adds 12G-SDI with up to 2160p60 support, a USB-C interface for recording Blackmagic RAW footage to external drives, and remote control over an Ethernet network (using a USB-C/Ethernet adapter). Both new products will be on sale approximately this October.
