In addition to the new Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K, Blackmagic Design has also focused on the studio camera segment, where they now offer a pair of new products: Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 and the Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2. The former is an upgrade of the popular Studio Camera 4K Plus, now with a 12G-SDI interface, support for remote control over the network via USB and REST API, and talkback via headsets with 3.5mm connectors. The new Micro Studio Camera retains the compact design of the original model, with new features including an upgraded 4K sensor (with 13 EV dynamic range, dual native sensitivity and max ISO 25600) for seamless shooting even in low light. Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 also adds 12G-SDI with up to 2160p60 support, a USB-C interface for recording Blackmagic RAW footage to external drives, and remote control over an Ethernet network (using a USB-C/Ethernet adapter). Both new products will be on sale approximately this October.
Blackmagic Design are launching a number of new products, this time in the field of cameras, where the most dazzling is the new Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K equipped with a 6K sensor with a native resolution of 6048x4032 and dimensions of 24x36 mm, dynamic range of 13 ev, dual native sensitivity ISO 400/3200 and max. sensitivity up to ISO 25600, as well as L-Mount bayonet, recording on CFexpress cards and power supply with NP-F570 battery. It also features BRAW and H.264 proxy recording, the ability to shoot at frame rates up to 36 fps at full sensor resolution or 120 fps in crop mode, USB-C interface for (among others) recording to external SSDs, a high brightness (1500cd/m2), flip-up display and the option to use the optional EVF viewfinder and battery grip of the BMPCC6K Pro.
