Panasonic unveils several new cameras including a high-end broadcast model UCX100 (and corresponding hybrid optical interface CFA100), as well as a pair of 4K "box" cameras UB10 a UB50. These are based on the LUMIX G and LUMIX S models and differ in the bayonet (MFT in the UB10 and L-Mount in the UB50), sensor (10.3 MP 4/3 and 24.2 MP S35 respectively) and dynamic range in V-Log mode (13 and 24.2 MP respectively). they share the same size/design, broad support for IP standards (RTP/RTSP etc.), dual native sensor sensitivity technology, 3G-SDI, HDMI Type A, LAN, TC, Genlock and USB-C, H.264/H.265/HEVC MP4/MOV recording to SD cards, easy integration with Panasonic PTZ cameras, advanced AF detection with subject detection and more... Both cameras are expected to hit the market during the first quarter of 2025, with the studio model UCX100 going on sale in December this year.

From September 16 - October 6, 2024, get a lens included with the purchase of a LUMIX S5M2/S5M2X, S9, GH7 and G9M2 body or kit! For the S5M2/S5M2X, this is LUMIX S 85 mm f/1.8 (S85ME), for the S9 the LUMIX S 50 mm f/1.8 (S50ME) and for the GH7/G9M2 the Leica DG Summilux 9 mm f/1.7 Asph. Panasonic said optional plug-in for Windows software Media Production Suite allowing easy keying (no background keying) and video composition. The application is compatible (not only) with Panasonic installation cameras incl. HE20, UE4, UE40, UE80 and others, as well as with Blackmagic Design DeckLink 8K Pro and DeckLink Duo 2 cards (for SDI support). Already on sale (30-day demo available before purchase)...

Panasonic resurrects compact travel superzoom LUMIX FZ80/FZ82. The new version is called "D" and offers an improved viewfinder (now OLED with a larger area and resolution) and LCD display; it also integrates Wi-Fi, the now mandated USB-C port and improved software features (e.g. Zoom Compose Assist). It retains the powerful integrated 20-1200mm f/2.8-5.9 (35mm eq.) zoom, 18.1MP 1/2.3" sensor, Power O.I.S. stabilization, UHD video up to 30p/25p to MP4 (max. 15 min.) or FHD up to 60p/50p to MP4/AVCHD respectively up to 1280x720 120/100 fps and 640x480 240/200 fps, 4K Photo, Post Focus and Focus Stacking ad. The wide-angle 60x zoom is ideal for travel, sports and nature photography (incl. macro) and thanks to its compact body dimensions (130.2x94.3x125.2 mm, 640 g incl. battery), it's just begging to be packed in your backpack on summer holidays!
