Upcoming firmware 2.0 for LUMIX G9M2 will offer RAW output over HDMI for recording 12-bit Blackmagic RAW data with recorders/monitors Blackmagic Video Assist 5″ 12G HDR a Blackmagic Video Assist 7″ 12G HDR in [5.7K] / [C4K] / [5.8K(4:3)] / [4.4K(4:3)] modes; and to ProRes RAW via Atomos Ninja V, Ninja V+, Ninja, Ninja Ultra, Shogun, Shogun Ultra and Shogun Connect. In addition to new firmware versions for models LUMIX S5M2 (2.2) a S5M2X (1.3), Panasonic has also released updates for the LUMIX G series, specifically for GH6 (2.4) a GH5M2 (1.3). Both updates bring increased stability and support for the new "DJI LiDAR AF" focusing technology, which also requires the use of a compatible DJI product: DJI RS 3 Pro or DJI LiDAR Range Finder. In addition, version 2.4 for the GH6 improves the stability of recording to Apple ProRes format, and version 1.3 for the GH5M2 improves colour reproduction in Cinelike D2 mode. Panasonic to release new firmware for models LUMIX S5M2 (2.2) a S5M2X (1.3) on October 24, 2023 (on the web at https://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/). The new features will include a magnifying glass to enlarge the image and therefore more precise focus control in both MF and AF modes, as well as an improved high resolution mode where shutter speeds of up to 8 seconds can be set, including noise reduction. Thanks to powerful image stabilisation, a "high-res handheld" shooting option has also been added for taking very detailed images without the use of a tripod.
